Orkestronique

by The RAH Band

/
  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

The RAH Band, renowned for '80s britfunk, boogie and space disco hits such as Clouds Across The Moon and Messages From The Stars, proudly presents Orkestronique; a compilation of never-before-heard tracks born out of an extensive exploration of creator Richard Anthony Hewson's archives.
In 2022, RAH super-fan Dean Williams undertook the monumental task of cataloging hundreds of master tapes from The RAH Band’s vaults. Amidst this process, a treasure trove of unreleased tracks recorded in the 90s and 00s surfaced, catching the attention of curator Dean.
Working alongside Hewson (the band's originator and sole member), Williams compiled a selection of these uncovered rarities into an album, revealing a resonance and theme distinct from previous RAH releases. The carefully curated selection exhibits the forward-thinking, unconventional and ever-evolving sound that has defined The RAH Band since its inception in 1977.
Notable highlights include the deep and euphoric house track "Sea of Dreams”, which will instantly transport you to the 90s rave era, a transcendental two-parter named “Digital Native” which glides between trance, acid and tribal house, "In The Sky”, a bouncy dance-pop tune, which eagle-eared fans will notice features a sample from '80s hit "Perfumed Garden”, and a super rare self-remix of ’87 New Beat hit ‘Morocko’, the original of which was released under Richard's mysterious Shock Taktix moniker.
Orkestronique is a nine-track trip featuring far-reaching space age dance tracks and ethereal vocal cuts, making for an incredible addition to Richard Anthony Hewson’s expansive and iconic catalogue. A must-listen for RAH fans new and old, and the diggers and selectors of today.
